The Zelenikovo Monastery of John the Baptist. This is the most difficult-to-access monastery in Stara Planina, situated in the deep nooks of the Troyan Balkan, high above the Krayovitsa River. Although it does not have the brilliant architecture of the other monasteries, is captures you with its mystery and the unforgetable views of the peaks of Kupena and Ambaritsa. The monastery was founded by the Troyan Monastery abbot – Partenii, in 1832, and the present church was built in 1914.
