The Troyan Monastery is one of the Christianity symbols of Bulgaria. It was built in the 17th century in the middle of beautiful forests at the foot of Stara Planina. It has preserved several exceptionally beautiful and majestic buildings - real masterpieces of the Bulgarian Revival age. One of the most beautiful buildings is the church in the middle of the yard. It has amazing frescoes made by the famous revival painter – Zachary Zograf. There is a museum in the monastery, as well as some shops selling works of art made by famous local masters. This, combined with the spiritual power the monastery has, as well as its proximity to the Central Stara Planina, makes it one of the most visited sights in the region.
