Triavna is one of the brightest ethnographic complexes in Bulgaria. About 145 monuments, buildings from the time of the Bulgarian Revival, have been preserved in this town of Stara Planina. Some of the houses have a history of 200 years, and there are crafts' workshops inside them. During the 18th and the 19th centuries, the town reached its greatest economic development, and that is exactly when the Triavna Art School was founded. A number of famous iconographers, woodwork masters and constructors graduated the art school, and we can see some of their work in the museums of icons and woodwork.
