One of the main centers of the ancient Thracian culture is situated near Starosel. There are dozens of mounds, where Thracian rulers and warriors were buried. Big stone tombs and cult equipment were built in some of the mounds. The most majestic Thracian temple, built in the 5th century BC, is situated in the Chetinyova Mound. It is surrounded by a stone wall with a length of 240 meters and a height of up to 3.5 meters, constructed with thousands of stones with a perfectly rectangular shape. Stone staircases and a magnificent corridor lead us to a portal with beautiful ornaments. Behind the portal is the first chamber with a rectangular shape. After this one we enter the main chamber, which is round, with a diameter of 5.5 meters. There are semi-columns on its walls, and over them we can see ornaments colored in blue, red and black. A sarcophagus with a rich funeral has been discovered 30 meters away from the main temple. A golden ring with an image of a horseman, armour-plates, arrows, as well as silver, bronze and painted ceramic vessels have been discovered inside the sarcophagus, all excellently preserved.

The Temple with the columns (Horizon) has been discovered near the Chetinyova Mound. Although it is smaller, it also impresses with its beautiful columns and the rooms built with big stone blocks, all with precise rectangular shape.
