The Sokolna Reserve is located in the valley of the homonymous river flowing below the Mazalat Peak. The terrain resembles the one in the Tuza Gorge – very steep, impassable slopes, strewn with vertical walls and screes, most interesting in the Poshtata area. The river makes a lot of curves along the bottom of the majestic canyon; there are waterfalls as well. The best way to look at Sokolna, is to climb either of the ridges that are parallel to the gorge. From there you can easily peer into this kingdom of wild goats and bears.
