The stone bridges of the Rhodopes - preserved for centuries

Diavolski Most (Devil’s Bridge)
The Devil’s Bridge is a real masterpiece of Medieval construction. It was built by a local master in the opening of the 17th century. The bridge has three archs, it is over 15 m. tall and 56 m. long. When you stand under it, you are struck by its enormous size and its exclusively elegant and symmetric shapes. The Arda River flows below the bridge, forming an extremely beautiful canyon with large meanders. In spring, when the snow melts, the river level rises with 5-6 meters, and the water capacity reaches over 2620 m3/sec. In spite of the power of water, the Devil’s Bridge has survived for over 300 years.
