The Maglizki Monastery "St Nikolay Miracle-worker" is situated at the foot of Stara Planina. The first information about its existence date back from the 15th century. The monastery is among the most significant centers of literature in Bulgaria - at its very foundation there was a male and a girls' school here. It was burned and restored several times.
