The Drianovo Monastery St Archangel Michael is located below the majestic rocks of the Drianovo defile. It was founded in the 12th century, destroyed in the 14th and the 17th century. It was destroyed for the last time because it gave shelter for the band of priest Hariton, and then it was last rebuilt in 1880. Nearby is the Bacho Kiro Cave, where primitive flint tools have been discovered. They can be seen in the well organized monastery museum.
