Chudni Mostove (Miraculous Bridges)
The Wonder Bridges are the most magnificent natural phenomenon in the Rhodopi Mountains. At the very first sight everyone is astonished by their enormous size and the perfection of their shapes. They are situated in the skirts of the Persenk Peak amongst a centuries-old spruce forest. The two rock bridges, 50 meters away from one another, with a height of about 50 meters and length over 100 meters, have been formed by the erosive action of the Deep Gully River (Dalbokoto Dere) for thousands of years. The upper bridge is particularly interesting: it has four openings, perfectly smoothed by the water, as if by human hand. The passing under that bridge, as well as over it, is easy, because it is safeguarded. The lower bridge needs more efforts to be crossed, but the efforts are worthwhile, because the lower bridge leads to an amazing canyon, in the base of which the two walls are only a few meters apart, and its passing is possible for only well-trained and well-equipped tourists.
Very close to the Miraculous Bridges there are several interesting caves, unfortunately not safeguarded.
