The Belocherkovski (Whitechurch) Monastery is located at 1600 meters above sea level, so it is the highest one in Bulgaria. It is also one of the oldest monasteries in the country, founded in the 11th century, but destroyed in the 17th century during the big religious changes in the region. The monastery was rebuilt in 1883, but in 2002 its housing buildings burned down completely. Only the old church, after which the forests around were named, is still preserved. The nearby peak offers a beautiful scenic view of Kormisosh, Pashaliitsa and the village of Kosovo.
