The Belovo Basilica is among the best-preserved early Christian temples in Bulgaria. It is situated inside the lovely northwestern slopes of the Rhodopes, and it used to be a significant spiritual center until the 17th century, when it was destroyed by the Turks during the big religious changes in the Velingrad region. The place is still honoured today, that is why a church was built next to the basilica. This church is visited by a lot of people, even though it is quite far from the neighbouring villages.
