Belintash - ancient Thracian cultural center

Belintash is a beautiful and unreachable rock, on top of which there used to be an ancient Thracian sanctuary. There are stone steps, leading to the top of the rock. They take you to the platform, on which you can still see a lot of ritual urns and cradles with furrows, where rituals were performed. The two water reservoirs with a depth of 2.5 meters and diameters of 1.6 and 1.9 meters, have been preserved quite well. Old graves were discovered underneath the rock-sanctuary, and a Thracian village with interesting ceramic finds was discovered on a slope nearby. The peak offers a magnificent view of Cross Forest, Sushitsa and Kushmatila. The small villages on the surrounding mountain slopes are especially intriguing - Chotrova Mahala, Kabata, Vrata. They have preserved their old looks, and the few inhabitants are colourful and quite interesting to talk to.
